Overview

The FARO ALP bollard is an outdoor lamp designed to mark pathways, border gardens, and add visual presence to open-air spaces. Standing 80 cm tall, it fits well at entrances, landscaped areas, and private access points where ground-level lighting is needed, without installing tall lanterns or resorting to complex systems.

The lamp emits a warm light of 3000K, which is not harsh on the eye and blends naturally into the nighttime environment. The opal diffuser distributes light evenly, with no glare spots or unlit areas. The dark grey finished aluminium housing holds up well in outdoor conditions.

FARO is a Spanish brand with a long track record in residential and contract lighting. Their outdoor products are designed to last and to fit effortlessly into real domestic projects, not just design catalogues.

Installation and specifications

Preparation and installation. This lamp is fixed directly to the ground via the included base. Before installing, make sure the anchor point is firm and that the area does not accumulate surface water. The wiring must run through the inside of the base; it is recommended that the electrical connection be carried out by a qualified installer. Verify that the mains voltage corresponds to the range admitted by the unit before connecting.

Use and maintenance. Clean the body surface with a soft, dry cloth. For the diffuser, you can use a slightly damp cloth without abrasive products. Do not direct water jets directly onto the connections. If the lamp has not been used for some time, check that there is no accumulated moisture in the base before switching it on again.

Design and use

The ALP bollard belongs to an outdoor lighting series with contemporary lines, designed for those who want to give their garden a well-considered visual presence without resorting to complicated installations. The lamp stands 80 cm tall, placing it at a height above the ground sufficient to illuminate a path or kerb without being buried among vegetation.

The body is made of aluminium, a material that combines mechanical strength with a manageable weight. The dark grey finish gives it a discreet profile: it does not stand out excessively during the day, but it does not disappear either. It is a tone that works well alongside stone paving, gravel, treated wood or grass, without requiring the entire garden to follow a specific style.

The opal PC diffuser distributes light softly. From within, the LED source is not visible as a bright point; the emission is diffused, which reduces contrast with the dark surroundings and makes the bollard less uncomfortable to look at directly. At 3000K, the colour temperature is warm, similar to that of conventional indoor lighting. This means the garden, terrace or patio retains an inviting appearance at night, without the coldness of whiter or bluish tones.

The 8W power output is sufficient for the decorative and pathway-marking use for which this lamp is intended. It is not a powerful light source designed to illuminate large surfaces, but rather a piece that works together with other bollards or other garden light points. Installed in series along a path, it creates a visual guiding effect that does not require installing overhead lights or elevated lanterns.

The operating voltage ranges from 100V to 240V, making it compatible with the standard domestic electrical grid without any adaptations. The SMD LED light source is included, so the bollard is ready to connect from the moment of installation.

In terms of aesthetic fit, this lamp does not impose a fixed style. The straight profile and understated finish make it compatible with both more classic garden styles and outdoor spaces with clean, modern lines. It can be paired with the wall light from the same ALP series to maintain visual consistency between ground-level and façade lighting. It also combines well with a floor lantern or with recessed pavement lights, if you wish to work at different heights within the same outdoor space.

The net weight is 1.53 kg, making it easy to handle during installation without requiring special tools to position it.
