DOLME is a surface-mounted ceiling light designed to be installed directly on the wall. It works well in spaces where clean, uniform lighting is desired without elements that protrude too much. Installation and specifications

To install this lamp on the wall, it is recommended to have an existing light point at the desired position. The steel body requires firm fixing to the surface, preferably with plugs and screws suitable for the wall type. Before starting the installation, make sure to cut the power at the electrical panel. The connection must be carried out by a qualified electrician if you do not have experience with 220V–240V installations.

To clean the PMMA diffuser, use a soft, slightly damp cloth. Avoid abrasive products or solvents that could scratch or damage the opaline surface. The steel body in matte black finish can be cleaned with a dry cloth. Do not use the lamp if you detect damage to the cable or housing.

Design and use

DOLME has a square shape of 400 x 400 mm with only 70 mm in height. That means it practically hugs the wall or ceiling without creating volume. In rooms with low ceilings, that difference is noticeable: nothing hangs down, no cables are visible, no elements interrupt the line of the space.

The body is made of steel, which gives it rigidity and a solid feel. The matte black finish absorbs ambient light rather than reflecting it, which helps the lamp blend in with dark or neutral surfaces. On white walls, the contrast is clean and defines the presence of the luminaire without being excessive.

The PMMA diffuser in opal finish distributes light evenly. There is no bright spot in the centre, no shadowed areas. The light spreads from the entire surface of the diffuser, generating soft, glare-free illumination. This makes it especially useful in bedrooms, where direct, intense light is bothersome, and also in dining rooms or kitchens where good visibility is needed without the light source being harsh.

In the kitchen, DOLME can serve as general lighting if the space is not very large. At a kitchen bar or in a work area, it provides sufficient brightness without creating strong shadows. In the dining room, installed on the ceiling above the table, it creates a warm atmosphere that does not distort the colours of food or decoration.

For bedrooms, the 3000K colour temperature is a good choice. Warm lights do not affect perception before sleep in the same way that cool lights do. Two units in a large bedroom can provide wide coverage without the need to combine them with other light points.

DOLME's minimalist design makes it a lamp compatible with many styles. It works in Nordic-style interiors, in spaces with a modern industrial finish, in home environments with neutral palettes, and also in more contemporary settings where materials such as concrete, dark wood, or metal predominate. The matte black does not compete with any of those elements: it simply coexists with them.

It can also be used in hallways or entrance halls where there is no space for higher-volume ceiling lights. In those cases, DOLME's compact size and low profile are a practical advantage. Recessed lights are another option for those spaces, but they require structural work. This lamp does not: it is installed on the surface and that is it.

Questions and answers

Can the PMMA diffuser yellow over time due to heat from the LED?

SMD LEDs generate much less heat than traditional sources, which significantly reduces the risk of PMMA degradation. With normal use, the diffuser maintains its opaline appearance for years.

Is wall mounting the only option, or can it also be installed on the ceiling?

According to the manufacturer's specifications, the indicated mounting is on the wall. For ceiling installation, it is recommended to consult a technician or verify with the manufacturer before proceeding.

Is the matte black finish on the steel body resistant to everyday wear?

The matte black finish on steel is durable under normal indoor use conditions. To keep it in good condition, simply clean it with a dry cloth and avoid contact with sharp objects or chemical products.
