Overview

The SCREEN beacon by FARO is an outdoor lamp designed to efficiently and durably illuminate paths, gardens, and open spaces. It is installed directly in the ground and projects light upward along its structure, marking routes or defining areas within the garden without the need for additional elements.

The SCREEN collection is designed for those seeking functional outdoor lighting without complications. The lamp combines aluminum and polycarbonate, two materials that hold up well under typical weather conditions. Its IP65 certification guarantees protection against rain and dust, making it a suitable option for permanent outdoor installations.

FARO is a company with a long history in the lighting industry. Its products stand out for combining solid technical criteria with careful finishes, designed for both residential and public spaces.

Installation and specifications

Preparation and installation. This lamp is fixed directly in the ground, so before installing it, make sure the surface is stable and flat. The electrical connection must be carried out by a qualified installer, following the current local regulations for outdoor installations. Check that the wiring is protected against moisture and that the connection point is compatible with the indicated voltage, between 100V and 240V.

Use and care. To keep the lamp in good condition, clean the surface of the body and diffuser with a damp cloth and a neutral product. Avoid solvents or abrasive products that may damage the dark gray finish or the transparent polycarbonate. Periodically check that there is no accumulation of dirt or plant debris around the base, as this can affect long-term performance.

Design and use

The SCREEN beacon stands out for its construction in aluminum combined with polycarbonate. The aluminum provides structural rigidity and resistance to temperature changes, while the polycarbonate ensures good light transmission without losing mechanical strength. The IK10 rating indicates that the lamp can withstand considerable impacts, which is useful in high-traffic areas or spaces where there may be physical activity near the luminaire.

The transparent diffuser allows the light source inside to be seen, and the 4000K color temperature produces a neutral white light, neither too cold nor too warm. This type of lighting is comfortable for garden paths, home entrances, or outdoor rest areas, where good visibility is needed without the light being harsh. The 360-degree distribution option means the light spreads evenly around the beacon, with no shadow zones on any side. If you prefer to carry the lighting further, the wide variant extends the beam to a greater horizontal distance.

The lamp uses COB LED technology, which concentrates several diodes in a single module to provide a more uniform and efficient light output. The light source is already included, so no additional purchase is needed to put it into operation.

At 800 mm in height and with a square base of 160 mm, the beacon has a discreet but visible presence. The dark gray finish integrates well with stone, concrete, or wood pavements, and does not draw attention during the day. At night, the effect changes: the light it emits defines the space and guides the route without being excessive.

This type of outdoor lantern works well in private gardens, large terraces, home entrances, and also in more public settings such as parks or pedestrian areas. As a low-profile lantern, it does not visually interfere with the surroundings during daylight hours, and at night it fulfills its function without the need for additional lights along the same stretch.

In terms of compatibility with other outdoor elements, the SCREEN beacon can be combined with other products from the same collection to create a coherent lighting scheme along a path or perimeter. It also works well alongside wall luminaires or outdoor wall lights that share the same color tone or light temperature, creating a balanced ensemble where no single point is too intense relative to the rest.

Questions and answers

Does the SCREEN beacon include the LED light source or does it need to be purchased separately?

The lamp includes the 20W COB LED light source. No additional components need to be purchased to use it from the very first moment.

What exactly does IP65 certification mean?

The IP65 certification indicates that the lamp is completely protected against dust and against water jets from any direction. It is suitable for permanent outdoor installations exposed to rain.

What is the difference between the 360º option and the wide variant of the SCREEN collection?

The 360º option distributes light symmetrically around the beacon, covering the entire perimeter equally. The wide variant, on the other hand, projects light to a greater horizontal distance, which is useful when you want to illuminate a larger surface from a single point.
