Overview

The SCREEN beacon by FARO is an outdoor lamp designed to illuminate pathways, gardens, and parks efficiently and durably. It is installed directly in the ground and projects light upward, marking routes or highlighting specific areas of the outdoor space. The 360º version distributes light symmetrically in all directions, making it especially useful in open spaces where uniform coverage is needed without dark spots.

The body is made of aluminum and polycarbonate, materials that ensure resistance to outdoor conditions. With an IP65 rating, this lamp is protected against rain and solid particles, so it works reliably outdoors throughout the year. It also features IK10 impact resistance, a level that makes it suitable for high-traffic areas or public spaces.

FARO is a Spanish brand with a long track record in technical and decorative lighting. Its SCREEN collection is designed for those seeking an outdoor solution that combines functionality and discretion.

Installation and specifications

Preparation and installation: this beacon is fixed directly in the ground, so it is necessary to prepare the anchoring point before installation. It is recommended to plan the electrical route with outdoor-rated wiring, protected against moisture. The connection must be made with the power disconnected. If you do not have experience with electrical installations, the safest option is to hire an electrician. The working voltage is 220V–240V, compatible with the standard electrical grid.

Use and maintenance: the aluminum body and transparent polycarbonate diffuser can be easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Avoid abrasive products or solvents that may damage the surface. No special maintenance is required thanks to its enclosed construction and IP65 protection. Periodically check the condition of the cable and connection points to ensure correct operation.

Design and use

The SCREEN collection is conceived as a technical outdoor lighting line. It does not seek to draw attention to itself, but rather to blend into the surroundings and perform its function effectively. This particular lamp, with a height of 800 mm and a square cross-section of 160 mm, has a discreet profile that fits well in both private gardens and public spaces such as parks or pedestrian access areas.

The dark grey body blends into the environment without being intrusive. During the day, the beacon goes almost unnoticed. At dusk, the transparent diffuser allows the LED light to be distributed in a clear and uniform manner. The 2700K color temperature offers a warm tone, close to traditional incandescent light, which is pleasant for rest areas or quiet passageways.

The included 20W COB LED light source provides sufficient power to clearly illuminate the surrounding area. This type of LED concentrates a greater number of diodes in a reduced surface area, resulting in more uniform illumination. No additional bulb is required, as it comes integrated from the factory.

For a medium-sized garden, several beacons distributed along a pathway create a visual guide that facilitates nighttime movement without the need for more powerful or intrusive lights. In a larger patio or at the entrance to a home, the same arrangement works as subtle perimeter lighting. The CASAMBI version allows the lamp to be integrated into a Bluetooth smart control system, making it easy to manage the lighting from a mobile phone without the need for additional control infrastructure.

The dark grey finish not only provides aesthetic coherence with common outdoor materials such as stone, concrete, or treated wood, but also conceals dust and dirt accumulated between cleanings. The transparent polycarbonate diffuser withstands impacts well and does not yellow over time as other plastics exposed to the elements do.

The outdoor beacon-type lantern is often associated with installations in parks or large gardens, but this model has a size that also adapts to more domestic spaces. A private garden, a terrace with a walkway, or the entrance to a garage are situations where this lamp performs its function well. It does not require a motion sensor nor is it rechargeable, as it is designed for a fixed installation connected to the grid, which guarantees constant and reliable lighting throughout the night.

Lights of this type, when well distributed, eliminate shadowy areas that can be uncomfortable or unsafe. The goal is not to illuminate at maximum intensity, but to maintain a sufficient level of light to orientate oneself and move safely.

Questions and answers

Does the SCREEN lamp include the light source or does it need to be purchased separately?

The 20W COB LED light source is included from the factory. No additional bulb is required for it to function.

What does it mean that this beacon has an IP65 rating?

The IP65 rating indicates that the lamp is fully protected against dust and against water jets from any direction. It is suitable for outdoor use throughout the year, including rainy conditions.

What is the CASAMBI version and what is it for?

CASAMBI is a Bluetooth lighting control system. This version of the beacon is compatible with that system, allowing the lamp to be adjusted and programmed from a mobile application without the need for additional control wiring.
