Overview

The FARO RUSH 800 bollard is an outdoor lamp designed to illuminate gardens, parks and open areas where continuous and reliable ground-level lighting is needed. Its height of 800 mm makes it visible without being intrusive, and its 360º optic distributes light symmetrically in all directions, with no dark spots or blind angles.

This lamp addresses a specific need: illuminating paths, flower beds or green areas uniformly, with a unit that requires no frequent maintenance and withstands outdoor conditions without issue. The aluminium body and transparent polycarbonate diffuser provide resistance to both impacts and rain, without the appearance being affected over time.

FARO is a Spanish brand with decades of experience in technical lighting. Its outdoor products are designed to last in real conditions, not just to look good in a catalogue.

Installation and specifications

This bollard is fixed directly to the ground. Before installation, it is advisable to verify that the anchor point is level and that the underground cabling reaches the base without tension. The electrical connection must be carried out by an authorised professional, as this is an outdoor luminaire connected to the 220V-240V mains. It must not be installed in areas where the cable is exposed or without adequate protection.

For maintenance, simply clean the body and diffuser with a damp cloth and no abrasive products. The transparent PC diffuser may lose clarity if solvents are used. Periodically check that the base does not accumulate moisture or dirt that could obstruct ventilation or affect the fixing.

Design and use

The RUSH 800 collection is designed from the outset for use in demanding outdoor environments. It is not a decorative lamp in the strict sense: it is a technical luminaire that fulfils a clear function and fulfils it well. Even so, its dark grey design with transparent diffuser gives it a discreet and modern presence that fits both private gardens and public spaces such as parks or building entrances.

The aluminium body provides structural rigidity without adding unnecessary weight. It is a material that tolerates temperature changes well and does not oxidise with prolonged exposure to rain or humidity. The polycarbonate diffuser, for its part, offers impact resistance certified at IK10, which is the highest level on that scale. This means the lamp can receive accidental knocks — for example in high-traffic areas — without the diffuser breaking or cracking.

The IP65 protection rating ensures that neither dust nor water jets can affect the internal functioning. This makes it a suitable option even for climates with frequent rainfall or for installations near fountains or damp areas. It is a bollard that needs no additional protection to be used outdoors.

The COB LED light source at 2700K emits a warm tone, similar to traditional incandescent light. This colour temperature is especially suitable for gardens and rest areas, as it creates a pleasant atmosphere without being cold or overly intense. The 20W power is sufficient to illuminate a stretch of path or a defined area without causing glare.

The 360º version is one of the most practical aspects of this bollard. By distributing light completely symmetrically around the body, there is no need to worry about orientation during installation. This simplifies the process and ensures that the lighting covers the area uniformly, regardless of the layout of the space.

In terms of environmental compatibility, this lamp works well both in single installations and in series of bollards distributed along a path or perimeter. Its dark grey finish does not visually compete with vegetation or other garden elements, but integrates naturally. It is also compatible with CASAMBI technology, allowing the lighting to be managed intelligently from an application, without the need to install additional control cables.

For a garden lantern requiring greater height or vertical diffusion, this bollard can be complemented with other luminaires from the same RUSH collection or with wall lights in covered areas such as a terrace or porch.

Questions and answers

Does the 360º version affect the amount of light emitted compared to other versions in the collection?

No, the power is the same. The difference lies in how that light is distributed: the 360º option spreads it symmetrically in all directions, which is useful when the bollard is in the centre of an area rather than placed against a side.

Is the IP65 protection level sufficient for areas with heavy rainfall or installations near water?

Yes. IP65 indicates total protection against dust and resistance to water jets from any direction. It is suitable for outdoors with frequent rainfall, although it is not designed for immersion.

Is the COB LED light source included or does it need to be purchased separately?

It is included. The lamp arrives ready to connect, with no need to purchase any additional components.
