Overview

MOON is an outdoor lamp manufactured by FARO, designed to be wall-mounted and provide stable, hassle-free lighting for outdoor spaces. It stands 61 cm tall, has a clean profile and an opal polycarbonate diffuser that distributes light without harsh contrast zones. It is a suitable option for those looking for a wall beacon with a clear visual presence but without decorative excess.

This lamp works well at house entrances, façades, covered accesses and outdoor walkways. The dark grey aluminium body holds up well to outdoor conditions without losing its appearance over time. The opal diffuser softens the light and prevents direct glare.

FARO is a Spanish brand with a track record in indoor and outdoor lighting. Their products follow contemporary design criteria and are intended for residential and small professional installations.

Installation and specifications

For installation, this beacon requires direct wall mounting using screws. Before fitting the lamp, make sure the surface is solid and can support the weight of the unit. The wiring must run inside the wall or through a protected external conduit. The electrical connection must be carried out by a qualified electrician, especially in outdoor installations. Check that the light point meets the indicated voltage, between 100 and 240 V.

The aluminium body can be cleaned with a dry or slightly damp cloth. Avoid abrasive products or solvents that could damage the dark grey finish. The PMMA diffuser can be cleaned with water and mild soap. Do not direct jets of water directly onto the electrical connections. Periodically check the condition of the mounting and tighten the fixing points if necessary.

Design and use

The MOON lamp by FARO is a surface outdoor luminaire with a vertical format of 61 cm. Its aluminium structure gives it solidity without adding excessive weight. The dark grey finish integrates easily into façades of different materials: concrete, stone, exposed brick or neutral-toned cladding.

The opal PMMA diffuser covers the entire front of the lamp. This material filters the light from the source and spreads it evenly outward, which is useful in access areas where comfortable visibility is needed without intense light spots. There is no visible light point from the front, only a surface that emits light uniformly.

The beacon accepts an E27 LED bulb of up to 15 W. As the bulb is not included, you can choose the light tone that best suits the environment: cool white for functional walkways, warm white to create a more relaxed atmosphere on a terrace or in a garden. An LED bulb of these characteristics consumes little energy and has a long lifespan, reducing the need for frequent replacements.

At 61 cm tall and 18 cm wide, this lamp has sufficient presence to illuminate an access area without taking up too much space on the wall. It is suitable for house entrances, garage accesses, gardens or side patios. It can also be used next to a secondary door or in a covered outdoor corridor.

In gardens or patios with other outdoor lights, MOON can act as a complementary lighting point. Its straight lines and dark finish do not visually compete with other elements in the surroundings. It works well alongside floor-standing lanterns, ground beacons or lights recessed into the pavement, without the overall effect feeling cluttered.

Installation does not require special tools. The lamp is fixed directly to the wall, with no need for additional anchoring beyond the existing light point. The unit weighs less than two kilograms, which makes the work easier during mounting.

For those who value functional outdoor lighting with a tidy appearance, this beacon meets the need well without superfluous elements. It does not incorporate a motion sensor or a rechargeable system, which simplifies both installation and maintenance. It is also not a solar lamp, so it depends on the building's electrical installation, just like a traditional mains-connected lantern.

The contemporary design of MOON fits well with modern-style buildings, but also works on more classic façades when a clean contrast is sought. The dark grey body does not stand out excessively during the day and, when the lamp is on, the opal diffuser draws attention to the light without calling attention to the structure itself.

Questions and answers

Does the MOON lamp include an E27 bulb or does it need to be purchased separately?

The bulb is not included. You need to purchase an E27 LED bulb with a maximum power of 15 W. You can choose the light tone you prefer depending on the intended use.

What are the exact dimensions of this version of the lamp?

This version of MOON measures 610 mm in height, 180 mm in length and 180 mm in depth. This is the full measurement of the body, not including the wall anchor.

Does the aluminium body need any special treatment to withstand outdoor humidity?

Aluminium is a material that withstands outdoor exposure well without additional treatments. The dark grey finish is already applied at the factory. It only requires periodic cleaning with a dry or damp cloth to keep it looking its best.
