Overview

The LOGAR beacon by FARO is an outdoor lamp designed to illuminate paths, entrances, and walkways in the garden. With a height of 65 cm and clean lines, this lamp integrates effortlessly into open-air spaces where visual order and warm ground-level light are desired.

If you have an entrance path, a walkway between green areas, or a side access to the house, a beacon like this solves the lighting discreetly. It doesn't draw too much attention during the day, but when night falls it fulfills its function well: it marks the route and creates a sense of safety without glare.

FARO is a Spanish brand with decades of experience in lighting. Its outdoor products combine durable materials with functional design, made for those who want things to simply work well and look good too.

Installation and specifications

To install this lamp in the ground, it is necessary to prepare the cable outlet at the chosen point beforehand. It is recommended that the wiring be protected with corrugated tubing or rigid conduit underground. The fixture is mounted directly in the ground, so it is advisable to verify that the surface is stable and level before placing the beacon. Electrical installation must be carried out by a qualified professional, especially in outdoor installations where humidity is a factor to consider.

The aluminum body requires no special maintenance, but can be cleaned with a damp cloth to remove accumulated dust or dirt. Avoid using abrasive products or solvents that may damage the dark grey finish. The PMMA diffuser can be cleaned in the same way, gently. There is no need to replace the light source, as the LED is integrated and has a long service life.

Design and use

The LOGAR lamp has a narrow, vertical profile that takes up little visual space without losing presence. Its dimensions of 80 x 80 mm at the base and 650 mm in height make it a compact-scale beacon, suitable for both large gardens and smaller patios where space between plants or decorative elements is limited.

The body is made of aluminum with a dark grey finish. This material withstands outdoor conditions well without warping or losing its finish over time. The dark grey color is neutral and adapts well to different environments: it works alongside stone, gravel, concrete, or wood paving, and does not clash with vegetation. If you have a terrace or an entrance with cool-toned flooring, this lamp fits in naturally.

The diffuser is made of opal PMMA, a material that distributes light softly. This means there is no visible, bright light point, but rather a diffuse surface that illuminates evenly. The result is a warm light at 3000K, similar to that of a traditional incandescent bulb, which is not harsh on the eyes and creates a calm atmosphere in nighttime outdoor spaces.

The light source is a 12W SMD LED, included with the lamp. There is nothing else to purchase to get it up and running. LED technology ensures low energy consumption compared to other outdoor light sources, and a long service life that avoids frequent maintenance.

This beacon is designed for path and walkway lighting, but can also be used to mark the perimeter of a landscaped area, signal the edges of a garage entrance path, or visually define a nighttime route around the house. In more carefully designed gardens, several beacons placed at regular intervals create a neat and pleasant effect.

As an outdoor floor-mounted lamp, it does not rely on solar lights, motion sensors, or rechargeable systems. It is connected to the electrical grid and provides stable, continuous illumination whenever needed. This sets it apart from solutions such as a solar lamp or a motion sensor lamp: here you are in control, and the light works predictably.

If you want to create a visual ensemble in the garden, this beacon pairs well with outdoor wall lights in the same color range, or with a wall lantern by the entrance. Consistency of materials and tones across the different outdoor light points gives a sense of cohesion that is noticeable, even if you can't always pinpoint exactly why.

Questions and answers

Does the LOGAR lamp include the light source or does it need to be purchased separately?

The 12W SMD LED light source is included. There is no need to purchase any additional bulb; the beacon comes ready to connect and install.

What color temperature does this beacon emit and how does it affect the outdoor atmosphere?

It emits light at 3000K, a warm white tone similar to traditional indoor lights. Outdoors, this tone is pleasant and does not create a cold or clinical feeling, making it suitable for garden walkways where nighttime visual comfort is desired.

Does floor mounting require construction work or special installation?

The beacon is mounted directly in the ground. It is necessary to have the electrical wiring prepared at the installation point, preferably protected underground with appropriate conduit. It is recommended that installation be carried out by an electrician.
