Overview

The GINA beacon by FARO is an outdoor lamp designed for those who want to organize and add presence to the entrances, pathways, or green areas of their home. It installs directly into the ground and projects light upward through a transparent glass diffuser, allowing the light source to be seen clearly and providing clean, direct illumination.

The die-cast aluminum body holds up well against outdoor conditions without losing its appearance. The dark grey finish gives it a discreet profile that does not compete with the surroundings but integrates into them. At 700 mm in height, the lamp defines the space without being excessive.

FARO is a brand with decades of experience in lighting, with particular attention to design and durability of its products for outdoor and indoor use.

Installation and specifications

To install this lamp in the ground, it is necessary to prepare an outdoor power outlet or run the wiring from an interior point to the installation point. Electrical work must be carried out by a qualified installer. Before securing the beacon, make sure the base is level. The GU10 LED bulb is not included, so it is advisable to have it on hand before beginning assembly.

For maintenance, clean the aluminum body with a damp cloth and no abrasive products. The glass diffuser may accumulate dust or dirt over time; simply clean with water and a soft cloth. Avoid direct impacts on the glass and do not expose the lamp to aggressive chemical products.

Design and use

The GINA beacon has a simple structure that fulfills its function well without adding unnecessary elements. The body is made of die-cast aluminum, a material that combines lightness with strength. It does not deform easily, does not rust like other metals, and maintains its finish for years even in areas with rain or variable temperatures. The dark grey that covers the surface is a neutral tone that works well with both light and darker pavements, whether stone, cement, or outdoor wood.

The transparent glass diffuser is one of the details that sets this lamp apart. Unlike opaline diffusers, transparent glass allows the light source to be seen directly, creating a cleaner and more defined effect. The light it emits is visible from different angles, making it useful as a visual guide in a garden, at an entrance, or in a courtyard.

The 700 mm height places the light source at a distance from the ground that is comfortable for illuminating the surroundings without dazzling those walking nearby. This is not a lamp designed to illuminate large surfaces, but rather to mark pathways, indicate specific points, or add luminous presence to specific outdoor areas. In that sense, it works very well aligned along a garden path, next to a house entrance, or flanking an outdoor staircase.

Compatibility with GU10 LED bulbs allows you to choose the color temperature and luminous flux level that best suits the intended use. Warm lights create a more welcoming atmosphere at dusk, while cool lights provide greater contrast and visibility. This flexibility means the same beacon can produce a different result depending on the bulb installed.

In terms of combinations, the GINA beacon can be integrated alongside other outdoor lights without any one standing out too much over the others. If the garden already has a lantern at the entrance or wall lights, this beacon fits in without breaking the coherence. It also works well in spaces where the goal is simply to have functional lighting without investing in a complex installation.

For those with a terrace or patio with access to the garden, the beacon can act as a transition between the indoor and outdoor space, visually marking the boundary without the need for additional structures. Floor installation makes it easy to change its position if the space is redesigned at any point.

Questions and answers

Does the GINA beacon include the GU10 LED bulb or does it need to be purchased separately?

The bulb is not included. The lamp is compatible with standard GU10 LED bulbs, which can be easily found in lighting or electrical stores. It is recommended to have it ready before proceeding with assembly.

Is the transparent glass diffuser resistant to impacts or adverse weather conditions?

The diffuser is made of glass and, although it is suitable for outdoor use, direct impacts should be avoided. For cleaning, a damp cloth is sufficient. The aluminum body protects the overall structure against the elements.

What are the exact dimensions of the beacon and how much does it weigh?

The beacon measures 700 mm in height, 110 mm in length, and 190 mm in depth. Its net weight is 1.7 kg, which makes handling during installation easy without the need for special tools for transport.
