Overview

The AGRA 650 beacon by FARO is an outdoor lamp designed to mark pathways, border entrances, and add a decorative touch to gardens and outdoor spaces. It is installed directly in the ground and emits light through its four faces, allowing it to illuminate the surroundings in a balanced way without the need for additional light points.

It is a suitable option for those looking for a functional lamp that also brings character to the exterior. The dark grey finish pairs well with stone, gravel, or concrete paving, and its square, contemporary profile fits seamlessly into both modern environments and more classic gardens. It includes an integrated LED light source, so there is no need to search for a separate bulb.

FARO is a Spanish brand with extensive experience in indoor and outdoor lighting. Their products combine technical criteria with attention to finish and detail, designed to last and to integrate well into the space where they are installed.

Installation and specifications

Preparation for installation and assembly. This beacon is fixed to the ground, so it is advisable to plan the cable routing in advance before installing it. It is recommended that the electrical installation be carried out by a qualified professional. Check that the connection point is protected and prepared for outdoor use. The base of the lamp must be properly levelled so that the piece remains stable and straight. Observe the minimum distances between beacons if you plan to place several in the same area.

Use and care. The aluminium body does not require special treatment, but it should be cleaned occasionally with a damp cloth to remove accumulated dust or dirt. Avoid abrasive products or solvents that could damage the finish. The transparent glass diffuser can be cleaned with water and a little neutral soap. Do not handle the lamp with the power connected. In the event of any malfunction, disconnect the supply before inspecting the equipment.

Design and use

The AGRA 650 is an outdoor beacon that takes up little space but has enough visual presence to mark a pathway or define the boundaries of a landscaped area. With a height of 650 mm and a cross-section of 108 x 108 mm, its proportions are restrained. It does not dominate the space, but it does not go unnoticed either.

The body is made of aluminium, a material that withstands the typical conditions of outdoor environments well: temperature changes, humidity, and continuous exposure. The dark grey finish is discreet and versatile. It works well on light-coloured floors, where it contrasts cleanly, and also on dark surfaces, where it blends in without breaking the visual continuity of the space.

The diffuser is made of transparent glass and covers all four faces of the lamp. This causes the light to project uniformly in all directions, with no shadowed areas. The colour temperature is 2700K, a warm light that is neither cold nor clinical, but close and pleasant. It is the type of lighting that suits gardens well because it does not distort the natural colours of plants or the surroundings.

The light source is a 9W COB LED, already integrated into the lamp. There is no need to search for or purchase any additional bulb. This type of LED concentrates the light emission on a small surface, which improves efficiency and light quality. The accepted voltage ranges from 100V to 240V, making it compatible with the standard electrical installation in Spain and other countries.

In terms of uses, this beacon fits well in garden paths, entrances to single-family homes, terrace edges, or passageways in private outdoor spaces. It can also work beside a swimming pool, marking the perimeter or signalling access to the water in a visible but unobtrusive way. In an interior courtyard with dark paving, several beacons aligned in a row create a clean visual sequence that organises the space and makes it more welcoming at night.

As a floor lantern, the AGRA 650 can be combined with other outdoor lamps from the same collection or from similar lines. Its contemporary style and neutral finish allow it to be integrated with other aluminium or steel elements present in the garden, such as pergolas, fencing, or outdoor furniture. The square design provides visual coherence when several units are placed in succession, which is common on longer pathways.

The net weight of the piece is 2,1 kg, indicating a solid construction without being difficult to handle during installation. It is not a fragile-looking beacon: it has substance and gives the impression of being well built.

For those renovating the exterior of their home or simply looking to improve garden lighting, this lamp offers a reasonable balance between aesthetics, functionality, and durability. It is not eye-catching, but it fulfils its function well and improves the appearance of the space when night falls.

Questions and answers

Does the AGRA 650 beacon include the light source, or does it need to be purchased separately?

The lamp includes the 9W COB LED light source. There is no need to purchase any additional bulb, as it comes integrated from the factory.

Is the 2700K colour temperature suitable for garden use?

Yes. 2700K corresponds to a warm light that suits outdoor environments well because it does not distort the natural colours of the surroundings and creates a pleasant atmosphere during the night-time hours.

Does the transparent glass diffuser affect light distribution?

The diffuser covers all four faces of the lamp, allowing the light to be distributed uniformly in all directions. It does not concentrate the beam at a single point, but rather illuminates the surroundings in a balanced way.
