Overview

The AGRA 650 beacon by FARO is an outdoor lamp designed to be installed directly in the ground. Its main function is to mark pathways, border gardens, or indicate access points in outdoor spaces. With a height of 650 mm and a brown finish, it blends discreetly into environments with vegetation, natural stone, or dark paving.

Light exits through all four sides of the piece, allowing the space to be illuminated in every direction without leaving any areas in darkness. This uniform distribution makes it a practical solution for both functional and decorative use. There is no need to add more light points if several beacons are placed along a path: the result is continuous and balanced.

FARO is a Spanish brand with decades of experience in lighting. Its outdoor products are designed to withstand the typical conditions of use in gardens, terraces, or patios, combining technical criteria with a contemporary aesthetic.

Installation and specifications

Preparation and installation. This lamp is fixed to the ground by anchoring. Before installing it, make sure the anchor point is firm and level. The working voltage is 100V to 240V, so it accepts the standard electrical supply without adapters. It is recommended that the electrical installation be carried out by a qualified professional, especially outdoors where cables must be protected and buried in accordance with applicable regulations. Make sure to cut the power supply before connecting any cables.

Use and maintenance. Clean the aluminium surface with a soft, slightly damp cloth. Avoid abrasive products or solvents that may damage the brown finish. The transparent glass diffuser may accumulate dust or outdoor dirt over time; simply clean it with water and a clean cloth. Do not submerge any component in water. If you detect damage to the body or cables, do not use the lamp until it has been inspected.

Design and use

The AGRA 650 beacon has an aluminium construction that gives it rigidity without adding excessive weight. At 1.2 kg, it is not difficult to handle during installation, and its compact size — 108 mm on each side of the base — allows it to be placed in spaces with little room without being visually intrusive. The brown colour of the body is not a generic finish: it is designed to blend with natural surfaces such as soil, aged wood, gravel, or stone.

The diffuser is made of transparent glass, meaning that the warm 3000K LED light exits without filters that attenuate it too much. That colour temperature reproduces tones similar to those of classic incandescent light, something many people prefer for the garden because of the warmth it conveys at dusk. It is not a cold or technical illumination: it is a light that makes the outdoor space look inviting when night falls.

By distributing light through all four sides, this lantern illuminates radially. Placed beside a path, it projects light both towards the walkway and towards the sides, where there may be plants, shrubs, or decorative edging. This effect makes the beacon function both as a visual guide and as a decorative element of the space. In a garden with dense vegetation, the lights from several beacons arranged in a row create a sense of depth that does not exist during the day.

This is a lamp that does not require a motion sensor and does not run on solar or rechargeable energy: it is connected to the mains electricity supply, which ensures it will be on whenever it is programmed or activated from the switch, without depending on a battery charge or the angle of sunlight. For people who want constant and reliable outdoor lighting, that is a concrete advantage. Motion sensors and rechargeable or solar systems have their own applications, but when continuity and total control are sought, a direct mains connection is the safest option.

The contemporary design of this beacon makes it compatible with modern gardens, but also with more classic spaces where earthy tones predominate. It can be combined with other elements from the AGRA collection to create uniform lighting across the entire outer perimeter. It also works well in combination with wall lights or adjustable ground spotlights to complete the lighting of terraces or passageways.

The 9W power output is sufficient for its intended use. It is not a lamp designed to illuminate large surfaces intensely, but rather to mark, guide, and create atmosphere. In that context, the efficiency of the COB LED ensures good performance without excessive consumption, something that becomes noticeable in the long term when several units are installed.

Questions and answers

Does the AGRA 650 beacon include the light source or does it need to be purchased separately?

The COB LED light source is already included in the lamp. It is not necessary to purchase any additional module before installing it.

What is the colour temperature of this lamp and what type of light does it produce?

The beacon emits light at 3000K, which corresponds to a warm white tone. It is similar to classic incandescent light and creates a calm and welcoming atmosphere in outdoor spaces at dusk.

Can the aluminium body in brown colour lose its finish over time due to outdoor exposure?

Aluminium is a resistant material for outdoor use. To keep the brown finish in good condition, it is recommended to clean it periodically with a damp cloth and avoid contact with aggressive chemicals or abrasive products.
